Description

The Maremma Toscana Vigne Alte Poggio alla Guardia by Rocca di Frassinello is sourced from vineyards located in the municipality of Gavorrano, in the province of Grosseto.

It is produced with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Syrah grapes, harvested and selected only by hand between the end of August and the first half of September, depending on the different harvest period. Vinification takes place traditionally in steel at controlled temperature. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 12 months in cement and for a further 4 months in bottle, before being marketed.

It has a ruby red colour with purple reflections. The nose opens with intense and concentrated aromas of berries, black pepper and wild spices. In the mouth it is full and elegant, with a pleasantly long and spicy finish.

Excellent in combination with roasted and stewed meats, it is ideal for accompanying mature cheeses. Try it together with some typical Maremma dishes, such as acquacotta and pappardelle with wild boar.
