Description
The Maremma Toscana The Sughere di Frassinello di Rocca di Frassinello was born in vineyards located in the municipality of Gavorrano, in the province of Grosseto. Already from the fifth harvest, this wine has become part of the Top 100 of the prestigious Wine Spectator magazine.
It is produced with Sangiovese grapes and with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, harvested entirely by hand between the end of August and the first half of September. Vinification takes place in steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 12 months in half new barrels, and for a further 9 months in bottle before being marketed.
It has a ruby red color. The nose opens with a large and intense bouquet, characterized by hints of red fruits. On the palate it is large and round, with soft tannins and a pleasantly persistent and enveloping finish.
Perfect to accompany tasty first courses, it is ideal in combination with all game dishes, such as deer, wild boar and hare, and with wild duck.
