Description

The Tuscan red wine Fosso Sanguinaio by Tenuta Aquilaia was born in Maremma, in the land that was once inhabited by the Etruscans.

It is composed of Sangiovese, Petit Verdot and Alicante grapes which, once in the cellar, undergo a pre-fermentation maceration of 8 hours at 12°C. Fermentation then takes place with maceration on the skins for 16 days. The refinement takes place in French oak barriques for 6 months and subsequent passage in Slavonian oak barrels for 12 months.

It is characterized by a ruby red colour. The nose reveals a bouquet of aromas of cherry, myrtle and spicy notes of black pepper. The sip is decisive, with silky tannins and a spicy finish.

Perfect with stewed game and seasoned cheeses.
