Description
The Otto Borghi red wine is produced by the Casalfarneto company from the Marche region, which produces wines in the hilly areas of the province of Ancona. The winery manages 35 hectares of vineyards and focuses on the cultivation of native Marche vines such as Verdicchio, Passerina, Pecorino or Lacrima.
The wine is a blend of Montepulciano (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (25%), Merlot (25%). Once in the cellar, the grapes undergo a soft pressing, to then be vinified in red with a maceration on the skins for 20 days. Subsequently the wine is aged in French barriques for 18 months.
Ruby red in color with purple hues, it reveals aromas of red and black fruits such as cherries, blackberries and plums to the nose, with additional notes of leather, chocolate and vanilla. The sip is warm and round, with soft tannins and a fairly persistent finish.
Perfect with grilled red meats, stewed game and aged cheeses.
