Description
Les Crays by Joseph Drouhin is a white wine produced in the Mâcon-Lugny region in southern Burgundy. Coming from the "Les Crays" site, located in Saint-Gengoux-de-Scissé at 300 meters above sea level, this Chardonnay benefits from a westerly exposure that preserves the freshness of the grapes in a warmer area than other parts of Burgundy. The soil is composed of clay and limestone from the Jurassic period.
The vinification takes place through the purchase of grapes and musts from partner producers, according to rigorous quality protocols. The grapes are pressed with pneumatic presses and the musts are fermented for two thirds in tanks and for one third in oak barrels. The refinement then lasts between 6 and 10 months.
It presents itself with a lively brilliance. The nose shows floral and peach aromas, accompanied by a spontaneous freshness and a light saline note. On the palate it offers a juicy taste texture and a pleasant minerality in the finish, resulting well balanced.
This white wine pairs perfectly with summer salads, raw or grilled fish, tempura, roast chicken, wok vegetables and shrimp, goat cheeses.
