Description
The Donnaluce di Poggio alle Volpi originates from the vineyards owned in the Lazio municipality of Monteporzio Catone, planted on soils of volcanic origin particularly rich in trace elements.
It is the result of a skilful blend of the Malvasia del Lazio, Greco and Chardonnay grapes, harvested in the late period. The bunches are softly pressed and fermented at low temperatures. The wine ages on its lees, partly in steel and partly in wooden barrels with different origins and capacities.
It is characterized by a bright straw yellow color. The nose offers intense fruity sensations of apricot and white peach, supported by hints of smooth, lavender and hazelnut on a mineral background. Soft and intriguing in the mouth, it proves fresh and fruity, with a persistent closure that is just almondy.
Ideal both as an aperitif and with finger food, it is an excellent escort for starters and goat cheeses. Try it with spaghetti with clams or with bottarga.
