Description
The Laughing Magpie from D'Arenberg winery is made with a blend of Shiraz and Viognier grapes in McLaren Vale in South Australia.
The vinification begins with a soft pressing and the fermentation of the two assembled varieties takes place in open vats while in part the wine is transferred to French and American oak barrels to continue fermentation and begin maturation lasting 10 months. The wine does not undergo clarification and filtering.
Of a beautiful ruby red with purple reflections, it presents to the nose notes of plum, blackberry, cherry and apricot with spicy returns. On the palate it is dense with notes of plum, dried herbs and graphite that make it enveloping, with soft tannins and a long finish.
Perfect for grilled red meats, stews, cold cuts and first courses with meat sauces.
