Description
This Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio is the union of a large territory of volcanic origin, rich in ash and minerals, and of a grape variety that is enjoying increasing success and is experiencing a gradual rediscovery, the Piedirosso, whose elegance is sometimes compared to that del Pinot Nero. Not to mention the experience of the production cellar, Mastroberardino, which over the years has been able to offer great examples of Campania wine.
Piedirosso in purity, whose grapes are harvested by hand around the middle of October, is the result of a classic red vinification, carried out in steel tanks at controlled temperature. Follows aging in glass for at least a month.
It presents itself at the sight of a beautiful ruby red. The nose denotes aromas of morello cherry and plum, supported by delicious notes of pepper and cloves, with mineral additions. On the palate it is warm, well-structured and soft, with tannins of fine workmanship.
Excellent with legume soups, meats and cheeses, but also in the company of mushrooms and rich and elaborate red meat dishes.
