Description
The Pala family has been cultivating vineyards in the splendid lands of Sardinia since the 1950s. Today at the helm of the estate is the third generation, represented by Mario, who with his wife Rita and children Massimiliano, Maria Antonietta and Elisabetta, carries on the ancient traditions with the sole aim of making quality wines, capable of expressing the authentic face of the territory.
The Bovale vines are about 80 years old and are cultivated as sapling with ungrafted foot, in the areas of Uras, Terralba and San Nicolò d'Arcidano. The soils are characterized by soft dunes of siliceous white sand, poor and draining, which naturally limit yields. The vinification takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel vats. Before bottling, the wine rests for 4 months in concrete tanks, for about 2 years in large French oak barrels and for a couple of months in steel.
At sight it has an intense ruby red color with light garnet reflections. The bouquet is ripe and rich, with aromas of small red berries, plums, hints of aromatic herbs and soft spices. The sip is broad and satisfying, with evolved tannins and a very persistent finish.
To combine with game, roast beef.
