Description
Interpretation of the noble Irpinia grape, this wine derives from the further downstream portion of the two hill slopes on which the Aglianico vineyard of the Fonzone estate extends, characterized by different exposures and clayey soils with even substantial variations from area to area.
The grapes are harvested at the end of October and subjected to a short maceration. The wine ages for 10 months partly in steel and, for a small part, in second and third passage wooden barrels.
Ruby red with purple veins, it has an intense floral scent of violet and dried rose on the nose, immediately flanked by elegant notes of black cherry and herbaceous. In the mouth it is concentrated and soft, with a spicy finish of long persistence.
Accompanies cold cuts and important first courses. It excels in combination with red meats and medium-aged cheeses.
