Description
Glendronach Traditionally Peated is a unique Scotch whisky, which combines the influence of Sherry casks with the typical peated character of the Highlands. This special edition maintains the classic spicy and floral profile of the distillery, enriched by refinement in ex-bourbon barrels and a finish in ex-sherry Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez barrels. The Glendronach distillery, founded in 1826 by James Allardice, is located in the Eastern Highlands and is renowned for its intense and robust whiskies, perfect for long aging.
The production of Glendronach Traditionally Peated follows traditional methods that enhance the unique characteristics of the Whisky. The ex-bourbon barrels used for aging give the whiskey a creamy and vanilla character, while the ex-sherry barrels add depth and complexity. This careful process ensures a rich and well-structured flavor profile, maintaining Glendronach's distinctive style with a peaty touch.
On the nose, Glendronach Traditionally Peated presents light notes of honey and heather, peat, barley, vanilla and raisins. On the palate, creamy notes of butter, peat, dried fruit, cream cake and some floral hints emerge. The finish is of medium persistence, with light notes of peat, oak and vanilla that leave a pleasant sensation of warmth and softness.
This whiskey is ideal to be enjoyed pure or with a little water, to fully appreciate its aromatic and flavor nuances, offering a unique experience for fans of peated whiskeys aged in Sherry barrels.
