Description
Glendronach Port wood is a high quality Scotch whisky, produced in the eastern Highlands. Inspired by historic port cask imports to Scotland during the 19th century, this Whiskey uses the finest hand-selected port casks from the Douro Valley in Portugal. The Glendronach distillery, founded in 1826 by James Allardice, is renowned for its intensely fruity style and long tradition of aging in sherry, Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso casks.
The production of Glendronach Port wood follows traditional methods which enhance the unique characteristics of the whisky. After distillation, the whiskey is aged in port barrels, which gives complexity and depth to the final product. This careful aging process ensures a rich and well-structured flavor profile, maintaining Glendronach's distinctive style.
On the nose, Glendronach Port wood presents a bouquet of plums, blackberries, cherry blossoms, sandalwood and ginger. On the palate, notes of apple crumble, blackberry syrup, candied orange and almond stand out, which blend harmoniously into a complex and enveloping whole. The finish is long and persistent, with hints of orange peel, raisins and candied cherries.
This Whiskey is ideal to be enjoyed pure or with a little water, to fully appreciate its aromatic and flavor nuances, offering a unique experience for lovers of high quality Whisky.
