Description

L'Hermitage Rouge by E. Guigal is a wine of structure and substance, characterized by the elegance of high tannins in wood. The result of careful selection and assembly by Marcel and Philippe Guigal, it represents a true excellence of the northern Rhône Valley.

It is produced with pure Syrah grapes, coming from illustrious parcels of the Hermitage denomination such as Beaumes, Méal, Bessards and Hermite, on calcareous-clayey, silty and sandlo-gravelly soils. The winemaking involves manual harvesting and selection of the grapes, with regular pressing and control of the fermentation temperatures in closed stainless steel cuve for approximately three weeks. The aging takes place for approximately 36 months in oak barrels, of which 50% are new.

At sight, it has a very deep appearance, ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, it offers aromas of spices, small red fruits and delicate hints of wood. On the palate, it is tannic and massive, with notes of cassis and vanilla, and a spicy, liquorice finish. It is a purebred wine, perfect for aging.

Perfect to accompany lamb, red meats and cheeses.
