Description

D'Arenberg's The Hermit Crab is a blend of Viognier and Marsanne produced in McLaren Vale in South Australia.

The vines grow on well-drained and calcareous soils. After harvesting, the grapes are softly pressed and cold fermentation is started to preserve the varietal character. The Viognier is fermented in oak barrels with 8 months of aging before making the blend.

Straw yellow in color, it has hints of apricot and ginger, with a pleasant acidity on the palate and a vibrant charge of fresh fruits and white flowers that give freshness and a clean and mineral finish.

Recommended with oysters and Asian dishes.
