Description
Le Moulin Rose wine from Château Malescasse is born in the commune of Lamarque, between Margaux and Saint-Julien, on the right of the Gironde estuary. The Château, which today has 40 hectares, has been renowned since ancient times for its vineyards and wine.
The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), Merlot (37%) and Petit Verdot (9%). The selected grapes are vinified parcel by parcel in steel and concrete vats (60-110 hl), where they remain for 3–4 weeks. Aging takes place for 12 months in oak barrels, of which 1/3 of new wood, 1/3 of first passage and 1/3 of second passage.
In the glass the wine appears of a deep ruby colour. The nose reveals hints of violet, ripe red fruits, tobacco and hazelnuts. The sip is juicy, with silky tannins and a long aromatic persistence.
Ideal as an accompaniment to grilled red meats.
