Description
This Bordeaux wine from Château Malescasse originates in the commune of Lamarque, between Margaux and Saint-Julien, on the right bank of the Gironde estuary. The Château, which currently covers 40 hectares, has been renowned since ancient times for its vineyards and its wine. This wine belongs to the Cru Bourgeois in the Haut-Médoc appellation.
The wine is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The selected grapes are vinified parcel by parcel in steel and cement vats, where they remain for 3-4 weeks. The refinement takes place for 12 months in oak barrels, of which 1/3 new wood, 1/3 first passage and 1/3 second passage.
In the glass the wine appears deep ruby. The nose reveals hints of violet and ripe berries. The sip is full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long finish.
Ideal as an accompaniment to legume soups and red meats accompanied by grilled vegetables.
