Description
The Puro Bianco sparkling wine is produced by the Movia winery, which is located in Slovenia, in a border area, the Brda. There is the Italian / Friulian Collio and the Slovenian one, precisely called Brda. They are areas of great naturalistic and wine-growing charm. The Movia winery is one of the largest in the area, even with an average production of only 100,000 bottles a year. It is part of a niche of wineries in these borderlands, whose wines are absolutely worth discovering. They are wines from artisan winemakers with a lower than average dose of sulphites.
It consists exclusively of Ribolla and Chardonnay grapes, harvested late and by hand. Once in the cellar, the grapes undergo soft pressing. Fermentation starts in steel tanks and then continues in barriques, where the wine ages for 4 years. The wine is made sparkling using an ancestral method. The fermenting must of the current year is added to the wine, thanks to which the second fermentation in the bottle starts, without disgorgement.
Cherry pink in color, it expresses aromas of berries, dried fruit and mineral and smoky notes on the nose. The sip is fresh and round, with an excellent savory finish.
The wine is excellent as an aperitif and goes well with fish appetizers, risotto alla marinara and sauces.
