Description
Pinot Grigio Ambra is produced by the Movia winery, which is located in Slovenia, in a border area, the Brda. The grapes come from about 60 years old vines. There is the Italian / Friulian Collio and the Slovenian one, precisely called Brda. They are areas of great naturalistic and wine-producing charm. The Movia winery is one of the largest in the area, even with an average production of only 100,000 bottles a year. It is part of a niche of wineries in these borderlands, whose wines are absolutely worth discovering. They are wines from artisan winemakers with a lower than average dose of sulphites.
It consists exclusively of Pinot Grigio grapes, harvested late and by hand. Once in the cellar, the grapes undergo soft pressing. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks thanks to the addition of pied de cuve, with a 10-day maceration on the skins. We then proceed with the drawing off and with the aging in barrique for 12 months.
Pale pink in color, it expresses aromas of yellow and orange fruit and honey on the nose. The sip is full and refined, with a persistent finish.
The wine goes well with salami appetizers and sliced beef.
