Description

The Gevrey-Chambertin AOC Vignes Belles by Thierry Mortet is an organic red wine, produced in the prestigious region of Burgundy, France, specifically in the Côte de Nuits in Gevrey-Chambertin. This exclusive wine is obtained from Pinot Noir grapes, grown in a vineyard of less than one hectare with an age of the vines varying between 15 and 35 years, on clay-limestone soils.

The winemaking process involves manual harvesting of the grapes. The wine matures for 16 months, of which 5 in tanks and 11 in oak barrels, with the use of 30% new wood. This method gives the wine a unique balance between the fruity characteristics of the grape and the complexity brought by aging in wood.

Upon tasting, the Gevrey-Chambertin AOC Vignes Belles reveals an airy and floral nose, with a soft and sweet mouth that opens towards tension and a beautiful final persistence. These characteristics make it a wine of great elegance and finesse.

This wine pairs beautifully with white meats and poultry in its early years, later evolving towards more structured pairings such as duck and feathered game. Its aging potential varies from 5 to 8 years, a period during which the wine will further develop its complexity and aromas.
