Description
Cazetiers in French probably derives from the French word "castel" and the parcel of this vineyard is located exactly above the castle of Gevrey. Les Cazetiers is one of the most prestigious premier cru in the Gevrey area and from here, great oenological expressions based on Pinot Noir grapes originate.
The harvest is rather early, with the harvesting taking place manually around the end of August. Once fermentation is complete, the wine remains for 16 months in French oak barrels, half new and half second passage.
The color is a beautiful ruby red of mirevole intensity. The scent is broad and complex, with hints of red berry fruits that mix with notes of toasting. The taste is powerful and silky, with well integrated tannins and a long persistence on the finish.
The particular aromatic range makes this noble wine the perfect companion for a duck garnished with black currant berries or a rabbit with prunes.
