Description

Gattinara Vigna Molsino from Cantine Nervi, under the guidance of Roberto Conterno, is a fine red wine produced in northern Piedmont. Obtained 100% from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Molsino vineyard, a natural amphitheater facing south at the foot of the Alps, with soils of volcanic porphyry rich in minerals and clay, mixed with fine sand. The vinification involves a meticulous selection of the grapes, followed by a maceration of the skins at a controlled temperature in combined steel and wood vats for about 10-12 days. The wine is then vinified in cement and subjected to a 48-month refinement in oak barrels, a process that enhances the characteristics of Nebbiolo and the unique terroir of Gattinara. It has a garnet red color. The nose reveals hints of morello cherry and blueberry, notes of undergrowth and light spicy tones. On the palate it is full and incisive, with well-integrated tannins and excellent persistence. It pairs perfectly with roasts.
