Description
The Schioppettino di Prepotto is produced by the RoncSoleri company, located in the Friulian Collio and precisely in Prepotto, in the Borgo di Novacuzzo, a stone's throw from Cividale and not far from the border with Slovenia. "RoncSoleri" in Friulian means the "hill of the sun".
Schioppettino grapes, a typical Friulian red grape, is vinified in thermo-conditioned cement tanks with maceration on the skins for 15-20 days. The refinement takes place in truncated conical barrels and in tonneaux for 24 months, to conclude for another 24 months in the bottle.
Ruby red in color, it is expressed on the nose with aromas of dried plums and spices such as nutmeg, cloves and black pepper, as well as balsamic hints. The sip is warm and sapid, with a persistent finish.
Excellent with game and aged cheeses.
