Description
Friuli Colli Orientali Pignolo from the Myò selection of Zorzettig comes from vineyards located in the Pavia area of Spessa, in Lombardy.
It is produced with 100% Pignolo grapes, harvested entirely by hand in mid-October. Fermentation takes place with the must left to macerate for 15 days, deprived of the grape seeds so as not to extract the bitter tannins contained in them. Subsequently, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in new and second passage barriques, remaining to refine for a short period prior to bottling.
It has a purple red color, with light garnet hues. The toasted notes derived from the passage in wood come forward, followed by the development of balsamic and violet hints. In the mouth it is structured and harmonious, with evident tannins that soften with the passage of time.
Perfect to accompany red meats and aged cheeses, this wine is ideal in combination with cold cuts and salami.
