Description
The Friuli Colli Orientali Bianco Illivio of Livio Felluga was created in 1998 by the sons of Livio Felluga and dedicated to him for his 85th birthday.
It is produced with Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Picolit grapes, rigorously harvested by hand during the second decade of September. After a gentle destemming and a short maceration, the grapes are softly pressed and the must, clarified by decantation, is left to ferment at controlled temperature in barrique. The wine always ages in barrique for 10 months and then in bottle, before being released on the market.
Illivio has an intense straw yellow color with light greenish reflections. The nose opens with fragrant and delicate aromas of vanilla and spring white flowers, enriched with aromas of tulip, citrus fruits, lime, chinotto and white musk. In the mouth it is delicate and mineral, supported by a balanced acid vein that balances the notes of integral sea salt and yoghurt cream in the finish.
Perfect in combination with fish dishes, it is particularly suitable with risotto and fresh cheeses.
