Description
The Fiano di Avellino Riserva Tognano di Rocca del Principe is produced in the Lapio area, in Campania. The east-facing vineyards grow on soil characterized by clay-limestone soil in depth and silty-sandy soil on the surface with the presence of volcanic ash. This composition creates the ideal conditions for the cultivation of the Fiano grape.
The harvest takes place in the first ten days of October, followed by alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 40 days. The wine is aged in steel on fine lees for 12 months and then in the bottle for another 12 months, thus allowing the wine to develop complexity and structure.
Visually it presents a straw yellow color enriched by greenish reflections. On the nose, the wine offers a deep olfactory profile with notes of citrus and white pulp fruit, enriched by nuances of mint and a light toasted note. Hints of hydrocarbons emerge with age, adding further complexity. In the mouth, the wine is fresh and rich, with a return to citrus and a smoky note, culminating in a very persistent finish.
Ideal in combination with seafood, fish, cheeses and white meats.
