Description

The Faugères Valinière by Domaine Leon Barral is a red wine produced in France, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. This wine is obtained from a blend of Syrah and Mourvèdre grown on shale soil. The vineyard extends for 3 hectares, with an average age of the vines of 40 years.

The vinification involves 50% destemming, spontaneous fermentation and maceration with natural yeasts for 30 days in 130 hl concrete cuvee. Racking is followed by malolactic fermentation and aging on the fine lees in oak barriques (10% new) for 2 years.

Faugères Valinière is a wine of great structure and character. Voluminous and powerful, it expresses itself with spicy notes, closing with a very long and persistent finish, with full tannins.

Perfect to enjoy with a baked lamb with roast potatoes.
