Description

The Faugères of Domaine Leon Barral is a red wine produced in France, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. This wine is obtained from a blend of Cinsault, Grenache Noir and Carignan grown on shale soil. The vineyard extends for 14 hectares, with an average age of the vines of 70 years.

The vinification involves 50% destemming, spontaneous fermentation and maceration for 30 days in 130 hl concrete cuvee. Racking is followed by malolactic fermentation and aging on the fine lees in concrete vats for 2 years.

Faugères is a wine of pedigree and personality, a pure expression of its territory. It has well-ripe tannins, with a long, fresh and highly drinkable finish.

Perfect to enjoy with a crust of bread with rabbit offal quickly seared with butter and caramelized red onion.
