Description
The Etna Rosso Riserva di Tornatore is a Sicilian red wine born on the north side of Etna, in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia.
The Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes are harvested in mid-October, to then be vinified in wooden vats, where they macerate for 2 weeks. Once drawn off, the wine ages in French oak barrels for 3 years and ends after this period in concrete tanks, where it remains for a further 6 months.
Intense ruby red colour, the nose is expressed with aromas of cherry, morello cherry, mulberry and caper. The sip is fresh and crunchy, of great flavour and with a long finish.
It goes very well with red meats and stewed and roasted game and aged cheeses.
