Description

Etna Rosso Trimarchisa is produced with Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes from vines with an average age of 40 years.

With vineyards located on a lava flow in Trimarchisa and the harvest carried out in mid-October, the grapes are harvested manually and transported to the cellar for further selection. After maceration in cone-shaped vats for at least 10 days and undergoing regular punching down during fermentation, a post-fermentation phase follows with further maceration before racking into 25 hl barrels for 18 months of aging and a further 6 months in the bottle.

Ruby red in color with violet reflections, it brings back to the nose hints of blackberry, black cherry and a light toasting followed by Mediterranean herbs and sweet spices such as cinnamon and cloves. Generous and broad palate, it retains soft tannins and a strong structure that anticipate a complex and persistent taste.

Ideal with roasts and elaborate first courses, it goes well with grilled suckling pig and game.
