Description
Etna Rosso Contrada Feudo di Mezzo by Cottanera is a wine that comes from plants with 25-30 years of age, on land of lava origin at over 750 meters above sea level.
It is composed only of Nerello Mascalese grapes. Following maceration in contact with the skins, the must ferments at a controlled temperature of 26-28 °C. The malolactic fermentation is carried out in French oak barrels, where it stops for a period of 14-16 months followed by an additional 18 months of bottle ageing.
It has a ruby red colour with garnet hues. The nose reveals a floral olfactory bouquet, with some hints of red fruits. On the palate it is well structured, with dense and austere tannins to embroider a finish of vibrant persistence.
It combines beautifully with first courses based on mushrooms or seasoned with meat sauce. Try it with a cutting board of seasoned and tasty cheeses.
