Description

The red Etna Sentiero delle Gerle by Mandrarossa is a Sicilian wine made from one of the native red grapes of the region, Nerello Mascalese.

The grapes are harvested during the first week of October, to then be pressed and destemmed. Subsequently they are vinified at a controlled temperature and with frequent pumping over for 10-12 days. Aging takes place in 50 hl French oak barrels for 10-12 months.

In the glass it has a characteristic garnet red colour. The bouquet expresses aromas of currants, blackberries, plums with added notes of coffee and spices. The sip is full-bodied and well balanced, with elegant tannins and good persistence.

Excellent to accompany appetizers of cured meats and red meats both stewed and roasted.
