Description

Etna Rosso by Murgo was born in the Sicilian company's vineyards, located in the province of Catania.

This wine is made with a skilful blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes, harvested and selected only by hand. After the racking process, the wine is left to macerate for 6–8 months in the typical Etna chestnut barrels and then assembled and decanted into the underground cellar where it rests in stainless steel vats. Ageing in bottle follows.

It has an intense ruby red colour. The nose reaches a typical aroma of red fruit and spices, such as pepper and cloves, but it is the taste that truly represents the Sicilian territory, thanks to a very mineral flavour reminiscent of volcanic and lava sands. An elegant and balanced harmony leads to a very persistent and slightly spicy finish.

Perfect with first courses based on meat sauce, it is ideal with typical Sicilian dishes that alternate well spiced flavours with others slightly sweeter. Also interesting is the combination with aged cheeses.
