Description
Etna Rosso Calderara di Tornatore is a Sicilian red wine born on Etna, in the municipality of Randazzo.
The Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes are harvested in the second half of October, to then be de-stemmed and macerated for 15-20 days in concrete tanks, with daily punching down. They are subsequently drawn off and pressed. The wine thus obtained is aged in wooden barrels for 18 months before being bottled.
Ruby red in color, the nose is expressed with aromas of red and black fruits with spicy and cocoa notes. The sip is structured, with delicate tannins and good persistence.
It goes very well with stewed red meats, grilled meats and aged cheeses.
