Description

The Sands of Etna Rosso di Firriato was born in the vineyards of the Cavanera Etnea estate, located in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia, in the province of Catania.

It is made from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes, harvested and selected only by hand between the second and third ten days of October. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26-27 ° C for a period of 14 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 6 months in French oak barriques and 2 months in bottle, before being marketed.

The Sands of Etna Rosso by Firriato has a bright ruby color with bright purple hues. The nose opens with typical mineral notes and elegant fruity aromas of black currant, blueberries, plum jam and black cherry, enriched with elegant spicy hints reminiscent of pepper and licorice. On the palate it is well balanced, with soft tannins and a long finish of pleasant persistence.

Perfect in combination with grilled and roasted meats, this red wine is ideal to accompany game and medium-aged cheeses.
