Description
The traditional Rhum English Harbor 5 YO of the Antigua Distillery was born in Antigua, a Creole island of the Lesser Antilles, belonging to the State of Antigua and Barbuda.
English Harbor 5 YO is made from molasses. Particular attention is paid to fermentation. The fermented product with 7% alcohol passes on to distillation, with the use of a traditional continuous column which, due to space constraints, has been separated into three parts, as the roof of the distillery is very low. After distillation, a rum with an alcohol content of 95°C is obtained. The Antigua Distillery produces only one mark, which preserves part of the non-alcoholic substances developed during the fermentation process. The Rhum reaches its complexity during the 10 years of aging, which takes place in 200-liter ex-bourbon barrels.
There are aromas of brown sugar, sweet spices and orange peel.
Ideal both smooth and in the preparation of cocktails.
