Description
Song Cai Vietnam Dry is an artisanal gin produced in Hanoi in small batches, using a copper still. The base of this gin is made from rice alcohol and molasses, while the botanicals are hand-harvested in the jungle of the Northern Highlands of Vietnam. Local ingredients include Mắc Mật berries, Mắc Mật leaves, Mắc Khén jungle peppers, black peppercorns, Diễn pomelo peel, white licorice, Đia Siêu wood, ginger, turmeric, coriander seeds and cassia .
The production of Song Cai Vietnam Dry follows traditional methods, with particular attention to the quality of the botanicals used. California-based founder Daniel Nguyen has partnered with foragers and farmers in northern Vietnam to source local botanicals, supporting over 70 families and promoting the conservation of indigenous crops and plants. This gin represents a unique combination of natural and cultural elements of Vietnam, reflecting the country's biodiversity and ethnobotanical richness.
On the nose, Song Cai Vietnam Dry features sweet citrus peel, fresh pine and lychee, with hints of spice. On the palate, notes of spicy citrus, honey, litchi and juniper berries emerge, creating a complex and balanced aromatic profile. The finish is warm, with notes of wood and tannins that give depth and character to the gin.
This gin is ideal to enjoy neat, on the rocks or as a base for sophisticated cocktails, offering a unique and refined experience for fans of high-quality artisanal gins.
