Description

The Cancellus Reserva red wine is produced by the Vila Real winery, located in the district of the same name in the Douro Valley.

The wine comes from Touriga Barroca, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz grapes harvested by hand, de-stemmed and pressed. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in thermo-regulated steel tanks, with prolonged maceration, while the malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, with subsequent aging in French oak barrels for 12 months.

Ruby red in color with garnet hues, aromas of ripe black fruit, currant, blackberry and blueberry are perceived on the nose as well as hints of spices and vanilla. The sip is warm and full-bodied, with soft tannins and good persistence.

Perfect with roast lamb and grilled steak.
