Description

Dolcetto Munfrina is produced by the Pelissero winery, which for generations has been producing wine in Treiso, a small village in the Barbaresco area. The family manages 42 hectares of vineyards with native grapes such as Dolcetto, Nebbiolo and Barbera. "Munfrina" is an old Piedmontese dialect name which is historically attributed to the ancient owner, of Monferrato origin, who looked after these lands.

Once harvested, the grapes are macerated for a few days in thermoregulated steel tanks, then cold decanted. The wine ages for 6-7 months in steel, followed by a month in the bottle.

Intense ruby red in colour, the nose is dominated by hints of ripe fruit such as cherry and morello cherry. The sip is fresh, rightly tannic and with a discreet persistence.

It goes excellently with everyday cooking, from pasta with meat sauce to cold cuts.
