Description
Dolcetto Augenta is produced by the Pelissero winery, which for generations has been producing wine in Treiso, a small village in the Barbaresco area. The family manages 42 hectares of vineyards with native grapes such as Dolcetto, Nebbiolo and Barbera. The wine comes from the Dolcetto vineyards surrounding the cellar.
Once harvested, the grapes are macerated in steel tanks, then cold decanted. The wine ages for 6-7 months in 50hl oak barrels followed by 2 months in the bottle.
Intense ruby red in colour, the nose is dominated by hints of violet, red fruit and spicy notes. The sip is fresh and sapid, with sweet tannins and excellent persistence.
It goes excellently with first courses with savory meat sauces, roasts and cheeses.
