Description
The Crozes-Hermitage Rouge by E. Guigal is a wine that enchants with its full fruit and spicy notes, perfectly expressing the character of Syrah. This wine maintains a remarkable freshness and balance, the result of careful selection and assembly carried out by Marcel and Philippe Guigal, representing a true excellence of the terroir of the northern Rhône Valley.
Produced with 100% Syrah grapes, coming from approximately 35 year old vineyards located mainly on the slopes of the villages of Gervans, Mercurol, Larnage and Crozes-Hermitage. The winemaking involves traditional methods, with temperature control during alcoholic fermentation and a cuvaison lasting approximately three weeks. The aging takes place in oak barrels for approximately 24 months.
At sight, it has a very dark and deep color. On the nose, small red fruits such as cherry and strawberry emerge, accompanied by delicate woody aromas. On the palate, the wine is tannic and solid, with notes of cassis buds and vanilla. It stands out for its remarkable freshness and well-worked tannins thanks to the prolonged aging in wood.
Perfect to accompany red meats, especially game, and cheeses.
