Description
The Olivier Ravoire Banderet is a red wine from the Maison Ravoire, which has been producing wines in both the Rhône Valley and Provence for generations, with 2 locations, one in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and one in Salon-de-Provence. With the Olivier Ravoire line, dedicated to Captain Ravoire who lived in the 16th century, the winery wanted to underline the ancient history of the family, while the name Banderet refers to the ancient banners of the knights of the Ravoire family.
After the manual harvest of the grapes, they are de-stemmed and crushed. Alcoholic fermentation follows at a controlled temperature with regular pumping over, after which the wine ages for 10 months in concrete vats.
From the classic ruby red color with garnet reflections, the nose reveals aromas of red fruit and spices. The sip is full and silky, with pleasant well-behaved tannins.
Ideal in combination with rich appetizers of cold cuts and cheeses, with first courses with meat sauce and with grilled meats.
