Description

The Vin Jaune from Domaine de Savagny is a speciality of the Jura, a dry white wine made in an oxidative style from the white Savagnin grape, typical of this region. This special wine also has its own bottle style, called "clavelin", of 0.62 cl. This quantity symbolically represents the yield of finished product from a litre of base wine.

The wine is made exclusively from Savagnin grapes, which are traditionally vinified. The resulting wine ages in oak barrels for at least 3 years and for 4 more years in barrels filled like sherry.

Amber yellow in color, the nose is broad and rich. Aromas of hazelnut and almond are perceived on a fruity background. The taste is dry and savory, medium-bodied and long-lasting.

Extremely long-lived wine, it pairs with cheeses, white meats, the Valdostana fondue, or Roman-style gnocchi. Also try it paired with Asian cuisine.
