Description
Les Commandeurs Rouge is a Provençal red wine produced by Château Peyrassol, which in the Middle Ages belonged to the order of the Templars, as recognized by the red cross symbol of the company. The winery specializes in the production of wines from Provence.
The wine is a blend of two grape varieties, Syrah (70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%). In the cellar the grapes are de-stemmed and then left to macerate whole berries in concrete vats, where they remain for 3 weeks with frequent punching down.
In the glass, the wine appears ruby in color. The nose reveals small red and black fruits, currant and blueberry, as well as spicy and licorice notes. The sip is fresh and crunchy, with an elegant finish.
Les Commandeurs Rouge is ideal in combination with first courses with vegetable sauces and beef carpaccio.
