Description

The Cru Classé Rosé wine is the first organically certified Cru Classé de Provence in Moët Hennessy's portfolio. The property consists of 77 hectares of protected forests and 69 hectares of vineyards which obtained organic certification in May 2023. After the acquisition by Moët Hennessy, the estate was refounded with the aim of expressing all the richness of the soil and terroir, but also of the local flora and fauna. The Château aims to become an oasis for biodiversity and an organic viticulture project, and therefore an example of sustainability in the LVMH Group and in the wine sector. In collaboration with three local expert associations, Château Galoupet is deepening its knowledge and understanding of the impact of biodiversity on the vineyard and wines. Additionally, the property is home to 200 beehives and one of only 12 queen bee breeding stations in the world.

Located on the French Riviera, the estate is located in the so-called "Crystalline Provence", one of the oldest geological formations in the region. It boasts its own microclimate and three different types of soil, on which native varieties such as Cinsault, Grenache, Rolle, Semillon, Syrah and Tibouren are grown, a typical and very rare variety.

While maintaining high quality standards, no compromises are made on the environmental impact: from the soil to the recycled bottle (the bottle is made of 80% recycled amber glass and weighs only 499 grams), each element has been designed to be in perfect harmony with nature, to best serve the terroir and generations to come.

This Cru Classé Rosé comes from proprietary grapes coming from 39 organically grown plots, vinified individually. It is made from Grenache, Syrah, Vermentino, Tibouren, Cinsault, Sémillon grapes. 30% of the wines used for the final blend were vinified and aged for 4-5 months in 600 l barrels (50% new and 50% one year old). Pale pink in colour, it is complex and intense on the nose, with aromas of flowers, peach, bitter almonds and citrus notes. The sip is dense, round and generous, with a long and mineral finish.

An excellent companion throughout the meal, it pairs well with lamb chops with aromatic herbs but also with Mediterranean cuisine and delicately spiced dishes.
