Description
The Duc des Nauves red wine is produced by Château Le Puy in the Bordeaux region, in Saint-Cibard. The Amoreau family has been producing wine here since 1610 and today cultivates 54 hectares of vineyards, many of which are over 50 years old. All the wines are produced with minimal addition of sulphites and are neither filtered nor clarified.
It consists of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, which are first of all subjected to destemming-crushing. Vinification takes place with spontaneous fermentation and maceration on the skins for 2-4 weeks in open concrete vats. The aging takes place in the same containers for 8-10 months.
Ruby red in colour, it reveals intense aromas of red flowers and fruit such as cherry, plum and vegetal notes on the nose. The sip is fresh and full-bodied, with a mineral and persistent finish.
Excellent combined with risottos and first courses in general, including vegetarian ones, and with both red and white roast meats.
