Description
The Côteaux Champenois Rouge by Chavost is a red wine resulting from the blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, grapes harvested from chalky terroir in the surroundings of the village of Chavot-Courcourt. This wine is a rarity, produced without added sulphites by the Chavot cooperative of the Vallée de la Marne.
The vinification takes place in oak barrels with a natural process, followed by aging for approximately 18 months. The wine does not undergo filtration before bottling, thus keeping all its original characteristics intact.
At sight it presents an intense ruby red color. On the nose it offers complex notes of ripe red fruits, delicate spices and a light hint of wood. On the palate it is balanced, with soft tannins and a nice finish.
It goes well with cured meats and cheeses and legume soups.
