Description
The Côte-Rôtie "La Turque" by E. Guigal is one of the flagships of the Domaine, a powerful wine with spicy notes that stands out for the great elegance conferred by its Côte Brune terroir with Blonde accents. The fruit of centuries of viticulture on an exceptional terroir, this wine embodies the inspiration and legacy of Domaine Guigal.
It is produced from a blend of 93% Syrah and 7% Viognier, coming from approximately 25-year-old vineyards located on silico-calcareous soils with mica schists. The vinification takes place in thermoregulated stainless steel cuves with an automatic pressing system, and alcoholic fermentation/maceration for 4 weeks. The refinement is unique, with 40 months in new pieces.
At sight, it has a ruby red color with dark reflections. On the nose, it offers a bouquet of small red fruits, griots and blackberries, with a powerful and elegant aromatic intensity. On the palate, the entry is rather soft, with a beautiful harmony between the softness, the concentration of the wine and the finesse of the tannins. It is an established expression of terroir.
Perfect to accompany small game and exceptional dishes such as hare royale.
