Description

The Côte-Rôtie "La Landonne" by E. Guigal completes the famous trilogy of the Domaine. It is a massive and pure wine, of great intensity in both flavor and colour, representing the aging wine par excellence. The fruit of centuries of viticulture on an exceptional terroir, it embodies the inspiration and legacy of Domaine Guigal.

It is produced with Syrah grapes from approximately 35-year-old vineyards located on clay-limestone soils very rich in iron oxides. The vinification takes place in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks with a continuous pumping over system under CO2 pressure, and alcoholic fermentation/maceration for at least 4 weeks. The refinement is unique, with 40 months in new pieces.

At sight, it has a red-black appearance with very dark reflections. On the nose, it offers a bouquet of small black fruits, leather, liquorice and aromas of roasting and oriental spices, with a powerful aromatic intensity. On the palate, the entry is powerful, with a massive tannin structure, plenty of richness and concentration, and an established expression of the terroir.

Perfect to accompany large game such as leg of venison.
