Description

Château d'Ampuis is a wine from Côte-Rôtie, produced with grapes from seven exceptional vineyards of Domaine Guigal. This wine is characterized by aromas of black fruits and toasted notes, with a tannic structure that gives it remarkable aging potential. The fruit of centuries of viticulture on an exceptional terroir, it embodies the inspiration and legacy of Guigal.

It is produced from a blend of 93% Syrah and 7% Viognier, coming from vineyards located on the lands of Côte Blonde and Côte Brune, already planted in the 16th century. The vinification takes place in closed stainless steel cuves with controlled alcoholic fermentation temperatures and a cuvaison time of 4 weeks. The aging lasts 38 months in new oak fûts.

At sight, it has a dark and deep appearance with violet reflections. On the nose, it offers aromas of spices, black fruits and delicate hints of wood, with a dense, expressive and intense aroma. On the palate, it is tannic and refined, with notes of dried plums, blackberries and vanilla. The mouth is powerful, concentrated and structured, with very solid tannins softened by prolonged aging in wood.

Perfect to accompany game, red meats and cheeses.
