Description
The Côte-Rôtie "La Mouline" is one of the most emblematic crus of Domaine Guigal. Only a few bottles are produced each year from this vineyard located in the heart of the Côte Blonde. This wine is known for its voluptuous and silky texture, intensely aromatic, and represents the inspiration and legacy of centuries of viticulture on an exceptional terroir.
It is produced from a blend of 89% Syrah and 11% Viognier, coming from terraced vineyards in the shape of a Roman amphitheater on gneiss soils with light siliceous soils and calcareous loess. The vinification takes place in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks with traditional pumping over and alcoholic fermentation/maceration for 4 weeks. The refinement is unique, with 40 months in new pieces.
At sight, it has a ruby red color with vermilion red reflections. On the nose, it offers aromas of small red fruits, blackberries and floral notes of violet, with a powerful but fine aromatic intensity. On the palate, the entry is very soft, with a beautiful harmony between the finesse of the aromas and the explosive richness due to the concentration of this wine. It is a feminine wine, with a voluptuous and velvety texture, intensely aromatic.
Perfect to accompany small game such as woodcock.
